FAQ
What happens if I lose a quest item?
Should you misplace or destroy a sacred artifact, fear not — the Archivist of Emberhold, guardian of forgotten tomes and keeper of lost legends, may restore your item through a ritual of memory-binding. This service, however, comes at a cost: often a rare emberstone or the sacrifice of a completed bounty. Visit him within the Hall of Records to begin the restoration process.
Can I respec my character's abilities?
Yes. Within the Whispering Glade, hidden deep inside the Hollow Wilds, lies an ancient totem known as the Shrine of Reckoning. By presenting the Rune of Reflection — earned through trials or rare drops — you may unbind your current skills and reallocate every stat, perk, and path anew. Be warned: the ritual draws from your soul's essence, and repeated use may increase the ember cost or require new offerings.
How do I join a faction?
Factions are powerful forces vying for control in the realms of Emberwake. To align yourself with one, you must seek out emissaries found in key strongholds such as Veilspire, Duskwatch, or the Ashen Enclave. Completion of a faction-specific initiation — ranging from diplomatic missions to survival gauntlets — will grant you a sigil of loyalty. This unlocks unique gear, story arcs, and permanent progression trees bound to your chosen allegiance.
Is there permadeath in Hardcore Mode?
Indeed. Choosing the path of Hardcore Mode binds your character’s soul to the Realm of Ashes. Upon death, your spirit becomes one with the Veil, and your progress is immortalized in the Hall of Echoes for all to witness. Your fallen character can no longer be played, but their legacy may persist as echoes, lore entries, or ghostly phantoms encountered by others. This is a sacred path of honor and consequence — tread it wisely.
Can I tame creatures in the wild?
Yes, though such bonds require both strength and wisdom. Taming a beast such as a Flamewolf or a Stormhorned Koa demands mastery over the Beastwhisperer’s Discipline — unlocked in Act III. You must weaken the creature in battle, then offer a soulroot token or elemental charm aligned to its spirit. Once bonded, your companion will aid in combat, traversal, or scouting, and can even evolve under your command through loyalty trials.
Are there seasonal or limited-time events?
Absolutely. Emberwake is a living world shaped by celestial alignments and ancient prophecies. Events such as the Eclipse of Hollow Moon, Embermoon Trials, and Curse of the Hollow Flame appear at specific times, bringing unique quests, elite foes, and exclusive rewards. These moments often unveil new lore fragments, challenge dungeons, or realm-wide modifiers that alter combat and crafting rules.
Is cross-realm travel available?
Yes — through the Astral Conflux, a dimensional gateway located beneath the Shattered Vaults. This allows you to shift between exploration, PvP, and cooperative realms using realmshift sigils. Each realm has its own economy, dangers, and rules, and certain world bosses or treasure caches may only appear during specific alignments. Realm travel consumes temporal energy, so plan your journeys wisely.
How can I track world bosses?
World bosses are massive threats that spawn when elemental energies reach critical thresholds. By acquiring the Ember Compass from the Oracle’s Tower, you can track ember surges and stormfronts — both signs of approaching world boss activity. Join raids or send flares to summon allies across realms. Defeating these foes grants powerful relics, cosmetic sigils, and fragments of the world's lost memory.
Can I undo story decisions?
Story choices in Emberwake are impactful and often permanent. However, one exception exists: the Seer of Threads, a mysterious entity cloaked in starlight, may offer a ritual to unwind a single decision — once per character. This ritual requires a Timelost Bloom and a moment of celestial alignment. Use this rare opportunity to rewrite fate only when truly necessary.
Where do I report bugs or suggest new features?
All flameborn are encouraged to share their insights and discoveries with the Ember Council. You may channel your voice through the in-game Feedback Tome, found within your Adventurer’s Journal, or seek the hidden corridor in the official archives — a gateway maintained by the Lorekeepers. Those whose wisdom illuminates the path forward may earn Council Boons or see their names etched into future chronicles.
